This is what it looked like here this morning, and I had a raging headache, so nothing very productive got done today. After I drove Ken to work, I took some Tylenol and had a nap on the sofa with Ilex at my feet and woke up feeling a bit better. At least enough to play with some crafty things, anyway.
I’ve got too many projects going right now, but that didn’t stop me from starting a new one a few days ago. This one is a crochet project. And it’s yet another one for me…started on a whim, of course. I saw a beautiful blanket on Ravelry and I knew I needed one, so I started making these squares.
I had no real plan, but it’s starting to take shape. I think I am going to do the flowers in several different colors, but the backgrounds of the squares only in the blue and white to kind of tie it all together. I really love how cute these squares are and they are easy to make, too.
I worked a little on Ken’s Jura sweater. I started this one so long ago and I really need to finish it, but I always seem to stall on sweaters once I get to the sleeves. I just need to set aside a little time every day or two to put in a little work on it so that he can finally wear it. Right now, it’s slow going.
But it’s come a long way since I started! See?
I will get this thing done so he can wear it this winter/spring.

You are doing so well with crochet. Those squares are so pretty!
Thanks! Do you think doing the backgrounds as blue and white checkerboard will look okay, or should I just use random colors?
I like the idea of just two colors. Otherwise it would look too busy to me .
What a lovely crochet project! I’ve always admired (and faintly envied!) people who can crochet or knit. It looks so meditative.
It can be very calming (until you realize you made a mistake 12 rows ago, haha!). I’ve been knitting for years and just recently learned to crochet. I’m looking forward to a completed flower blanket!
