Have I mentioned lately how excited I am about the quilt I’m working on? Because I am. Really. Excited!
I finally finished sewing all of the strips together and then cutting those blocks at angles to get the herringbone blocks. I laid them all out tonight to see how it would look and I am thinking I might add a row of squares made from the scraps to make it just a bit bigger and less square. Right now it would end up being 54″ x 60″ and I’m not liking the squarish look of it. I think it needs to be a bit longer. (Sorry for the blurry picture, but it’s late and I’m tired and standing on a chair with your phone isn’t the ideal situation for taking great photos.)
Ideally, I would add another row of these blocks, but I don’t have enough fabric to make more. What I do have is a plethora of scraps, so I could make some pretty nice squares, both for theĀ quilt backing and to add more length to the front.
What do you think? I will try making some and lay it out tomorrow to see.

Beautiful! Love the colors!
You could add a solid color border, then add a scrappy border after that. It would give you more length and width but it would also give the eye a break and not be so busy.
Very pretty… bright & cheery. Just what you need in winter!
